Affiliate & Attribution Platform Integration

Connect your existing platform to the affiliate system you have selected. Preserve source identity, qualification definitions and correction references from postback to report.

What does affiliate and attribution platform integration connect?

Affiliate integration links acquisition references and platform activity to an external tracking and commission system. A dependable connection needs consistent identifiers, event definitions and correction rules. Tracking a click is only one part of the workflow; registration attribution, eligible financial inputs, reversals and reconciliation determine whether the resulting reports can be trusted.

Missing or conflicting identifiers remain explicit. Consent and agreed attribution rules govern the connection.

Define attribution before connecting the event stream

The integration starts with the selected vendor’s attribution model and the operator’s approved programme rules. We map affiliate, campaign, tracking-link and player identifiers, then define the point at which an acquisition reference becomes associated with an account. Brand and product boundaries need to be explicit when one programme covers several sites.

The contract identifies the vendor’s attribution window, competing-referral policy and supported link or SubID parameters. Browser, app-install and server-to-server tracking have different sources and limitations; an app attribution provider may be a separate connection. Missing identifiers, consent choices and a rejected mapping remain observable exceptions. Reports distinguish registrations, first deposits and qualified customers using the approved programme definitions, without manufacturing an acquisition source.

Reconcile reports with the operator’s records

Acceptance compares representative tracking, registration and financial journeys across both systems. We use approved test accounts and known events to validate attribution, qualification, reversals and reporting periods. Differences are categorized as mapping, timing, definition or delivery issues so the correct team can resolve them.

The handover includes the supported link and postback formats, protected credentials, rate limits, replay controls and reporting references. Cutover checks any redirected or regenerated links and late events that still belong to the old reporting path. Monitoring distinguishes a received postback from qualification, a commission calculation and an approved payout. Affiliate relationships, traffic approvals, deal decisions and fund transfers stay with their assigned programme and finance owners.

A controlled route to release

Reconcile the attribution chain before reporting revenue

  1. Agree programme definitions

Confirm attribution rules, qualified conversion criteria, commission inputs, brand boundaries and the system responsible for calculation.

  2. Implement event exchange

Connect tracking references, registrations, eligible activity and corrections with the chosen platform’s supported API or postback interfaces.

  3. Validate reported outcomes

Reconcile test journeys and reporting periods with programme and finance stakeholders before production data is activated.

Agree measures, deductions and qualification before delivery. The connector does not silently become a commission engine or transfer payout authority.

Protect commission inputs and corrections

Commission calculations can rely on agreed financial measures, deductions, qualification rules and time periods. We identify which system calculates the final amount and which data the platform must supply. Sensitive financial definitions are reviewed with the programme and finance owners before any integration is treated as complete.

Repeated events, rejected transactions, chargebacks and later corrections can change the eligible inputs. We design delivery and adjustment behavior against the vendor specification, preserving original references and a reviewable history. A successful postback does not by itself prove that a commission was calculated correctly or approved for payment.

Postbacks, qualification and affiliate reporting questions

Discuss your requirements
Do you build affiliate software or integrate an existing platform?

This service connects the external platform selected for the project. A custom affiliate or commission system is a different engineering scope. We review the existing vendor’s capabilities before proposing adapters or bespoke components.

Can we support CPA, revenue share and hybrid deals?

That depends on the chosen affiliate platform and approved programme rules. We identify the required qualification and financial inputs, calculation authority and reporting definitions rather than assuming every commercial model works through the same event payload.

How do chargebacks affect affiliate reporting?

The programme’s agreed rules determine the business treatment. The integration maps available correction and reversal events to their original references and verifies how the external system reflects them in the relevant reporting or commission period.

Does the integration include paying affiliates?

Payment approval and the movement of affiliate funds are separate responsibilities unless expressly included. The integration can support the agreed reporting and payout-data workflow while preserving programme and finance approval boundaries.

Can we switch affiliate platforms while preserving existing tracking and commission history?

Where the source exports, destination interfaces and programme agreements allow it, we map existing partner, campaign, link and player references before the switch. The plan covers historic qualifications, commission-rule versions, carryover balances and later adjustments. A parallel comparison checks attribution and financial totals, with an agreed cutover and a process for events arriving after the transition.

Can one integration cover web links, app installs and server postbacks?

Only when the selected systems provide the required interfaces and permitted identifiers. We map supported campaign parameters, click or referral references, account association and conversion events for each channel. App installs and deferred links may require a separate mobile attribution provider. Browser restrictions and missing or disallowed identifiers are reported as limitations; server-side delivery does not grant permission to infer an unknown affiliate or track every device.

How do you handle failed, repeated or out-of-order affiliate postbacks?

Each supported business event retains its source reference while delivery attempts are recorded separately. The adapter validates the vendor’s authentication, required fields, rate limits and correction protocol. Repeated deliveries must not create another conversion, and a reversal or qualification arriving out of order is resolved under the agreed state model. Uncertain receipts and unsupported corrections enter an owned exception workflow rather than triggering blind resubmission or a silent commission edit.

What determines affiliate integration cost and release readiness?

The scope names the affiliate vendor, platform APIs, brands, tracking channels, financial inputs, deal inventory and migration requirements. Discovery confirms test access, exports and which party calculates commissions. Acceptance compares known clicks, registrations, qualified deposits, corrections and reporting totals, then verifies link cutover and late-event handling. Handover includes credentials, monitoring, recovery and support ownership. Vendor subscription, affiliate communication and payout authorization are separate commercial and operational responsibilities.
