iGaming Backend, API & SDK Development
Casino backend development, gaming middleware and partner SDKs with explicit authorization, state, errors and operational ownership.
Define your integration contract
What does iGaming API development involve?
iGaming backend and API development builds the services and interfaces behind player and operator workflows. SDKs provide a supported way to consume those interfaces, while middleware adapts systems with different contracts. The engagement should define data authority, permitted operations, security controls and version support for each boundary.
Who may act?

What happens twice?
Design contracts that describe real behavior
An API specification needs resource models, command semantics, errors, authorization and state transitions, not only example JSON. Financial and account actions require clear identifiers and retry behavior. We review the contract with the systems that will consume it and identify where a provider limitation or business rule affects the interface.
- Versioned schemas and error contracts
- Authentication, permissions and tenant boundaries
- Command identifiers and duplicate handling
Receive.
Validate.
Correlate.
Reconcile.
Explicit trust boundaries keep a delivery retry separate from a second business action.
- Authenticate source and validate payload.
- Apply the agreed command and event identity.
- Record permitted processing and its result.
- Expose exceptions with safe correlation data.
Make integrations safe to operate
Webhook and event consumers need validation, appropriate trust boundaries and controlled processing. We define timeout handling, retry limits, dead-letter or exception queues where appropriate, and logging that avoids exposing secrets or unnecessary player data. Operations can then distinguish provider downtime, invalid requests and business-rule rejections.
Callback authentication, replay protection and credential rotation are part of the integration contract. We define the signed material or supported authentication method, permitted timestamp or nonce handling, event identity and key overlap during rotation. Recovery tools retain the original business reference and distinguish replaying an event from creating a new financial instruction. Acceptance includes invalid signatures, repeated events, revoked credentials and delayed delivery.
- Callback validation and event processing
- Rate limits and resource protections
- Monitoring, correlation and escalation evidence
API contracts, implementation examples and recovery tests
- Backend boundary and API specification
- Implemented services or middleware adapters
- SDK and integration examples where scoped
- Authorization and contract test evidence
- Observability and exception handling configuration
- Version, support and handover documentation
Give developers a supported implementation path
A useful SDK reduces repeated integration work without hiding important errors. We scope documentation, typed interfaces where appropriate, examples, sandbox access and contract tests. Release notes and compatibility policies explain how consumers move between versions, while deprecation is planned so a backend change does not silently break a player journey.
The support matrix names the API versions, SDK languages and runtime versions actually delivered. Compatibility checks cover schemas, authentication, error meanings and transaction behavior, not only whether a request still parses. A breaking change needs a migration guide, consumer test evidence, an agreed deprecation window and an owner for unresolved integrations. Source access, package publishing, documentation and ongoing support responsibilities form part of handover.
- Developer documentation and sandbox examples
- Contract and end-to-end test coverage
- SDK versioning and migration guidance
Specify event behavior before connecting clients
Write the request and event contract
Define identifiers, authentication, permissions, error responses and versioning for the selected service boundary. Document what callers may retry and which system owns each state change.
Implement clients and recovery behavior together
Build the API and agreed SDK or examples against the same contract. Preserve correlation identifiers through timeouts, duplicate requests and asynchronous callbacks so integrations can be investigated.
Qualify developer use and compatibility
Test representative clients, invalid inputs and version transitions. Deliver implementation guidance, regression cases and operating logs that support the interfaces commissioned.
Can you integrate undocumented legacy APIs?
We can assess observable behavior and available access, but undocumented dependencies increase uncertainty. The scope may include discovery, contract reconstruction and regression evidence before a reliable delivery estimate can be established.
How do you prevent duplicate financial actions?
The interface and transaction model use agreed identifiers, state checks and idempotent handling where applicable. We test repeated, delayed and conflicting requests against the authoritative ledger and provider behavior.
Will an SDK replace API documentation?
No. An SDK should complement the underlying contract. Developers still need to understand authentication, errors, permissions, version support and operations that may require direct API access.
Can external partners use the API?
That can be included through scoped credentials, permissions, tenant isolation, rate limits and developer support. Commercial rights and data access must be confirmed separately from technical reachability.
Which SDK languages and runtime versions will you support?
Choose the SDK languages from the teams and applications consuming the API. The scope records supported runtime versions, package distribution, authentication helpers, error handling and examples for each SDK. We test them against the same versioned API contract and state which interfaces require direct API use. Adding a language or runtime is a maintained deliverable with its own test and release requirements; it is not implied by providing an API endpoint.
How do API changes avoid breaking existing casino or sportsbook integrations?
Maintain a consumer and version inventory, then assess changes to fields, permissions, errors and business behavior. Compatible additions still need regression tests; breaking changes require an agreed transition route, migration examples and a deprecation window. The release checks supported SDKs and representative consumers before retiring an interface. The contract states who updates retained third-party integrations and how unsupported versions are handled.
What determines backend, API and SDK development cost and timing?
Estimate the commissioned backend services, retained systems, provider adapters, security boundaries, SDK support matrix and operational requirements separately. Undocumented legacy behavior, financial state transitions and external sandbox access can change the discovery and acceptance work. Milestones prove a versioned contract, a complete consumer journey, failure recovery and supported package releases before expanding integrations. Provider charges, hosting and ongoing support are identified separately from implementation.
Specify the interfaces your teams need
Bring the systems to connect, data and transaction authority, expected consumers and known interface constraints. We will define API contracts, authentication, versioning, recovery behavior and developer handover for the commissioned backend or SDK.
