How to Plan an iGaming Platform Migration
Treat a platform migration as a controlled change to player records, financial history, provider connections and operating responsibilities. Start with data access and reconciliation, then plan the cutover.
Explore the guideInventory what must move and what must remain
Map player identity, account states, verification records, wallet balances, bonuses, open bets, transaction history, content settings and reporting dependencies. Determine the export rights and formats available from the current suppliers.
Some live states cannot be copied safely without a settlement or transition plan. Document what happens to pending withdrawals, unsettled bets, active bonuses and provider sessions.
Agree financial and identity reconciliation
Define authoritative records for balances and transaction history. Test mappings for currencies, decimal precision, status codes, timestamps and account restrictions. Preserve enough evidence to explain a historical balance after the move.
Rehearsals should compare record counts, control totals and exceptions. An unresolved financial mismatch needs an owner and decision before cutover.
Rebuild integrations and operator workflows
The destination platform may have different account identifiers, callback semantics, bonus rules and permissions. Validate provider interfaces and train operators on changed exception-handling workflows.
Review analytics, affiliate attribution, CRM segments and regulatory reporting separately. A player account migration does not automatically preserve every surrounding business system.
Rehearse the cutover and rollback
Set the change freeze, export sequence, validation checks, launch decision and rollback criteria. Identify when rollback remains technically and financially safe once new transactions begin.
After activation, monitor payment outcomes, game launches, settlement and operator incidents. Reconcile again after the first operating period and retain the agreed migration evidence.
