iGaming SaaS & Platform Licensing Implementation
Turn a supplier proposal into a clear implementation brief, with the product boundary, recurring obligations and exit path visible together.

What is iGaming SaaS and platform licensing?
iGaming SaaS provides access to supplier-hosted software under a subscription or other licensing agreement. Platform licensing may allow a different deployment or customization arrangement. These commercial models do not, by themselves, establish an operating licence, ownership of supplier code or unrestricted use of content and payment services.
SaaS platform fit, access and commercial terms
A procurement review should identify licensed capabilities, usage limits, support scope, minimum commitments and change-request pricing. We translate these into a delivery brief and implementation backlog. The supplier relationship also needs an explicit approach to data access, security review, service changes and termination, especially when the platform will hold player or financial records.
- Software licence and service boundary review
- Recurring cost and change-request inventory
- Data access, retention and exit assessment
Separate platform subscription from implementation work.
Compare the licensed product, configurable delivery and recurring service commitments individually. Buying a deployment does not automatically transfer the supplier platform or its source code.
| Workstream | Project scope | Dependencies to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Licensed platform | Assess supported products, API access, usage rights and vendor release terms. | The named supplier agreement, fees and permitted operating scope. |
| Configuration and connections | Scope branding, supported settings and third-party adapters. | Configuration access, provider contracts and supported extension points. |
| Operation and exit | Plan releases, support, data exports and transition assistance. | Agreed coverage, export formats and supplier change responsibilities. |

Configure the operation within supported controls
Implementation covers the approved brands, user roles, content, languages, currencies and provider connections. We avoid unsupported core modifications that would make future updates fragile. Where the SaaS platform cannot meet a required journey, the gap is assessed as a supported extension, separate module or reason to reconsider the product.
Tenant setup includes the separation of brands, staff roles, environments and API credentials. The acceptance plan checks whether a permitted administrator can view or change only the intended records, and how access is revoked. Vendor security reports, processing locations and subcontractor information are reviewed where available; their existence is not a substitute for testing the configured permissions.
- Tenant and brand configuration
- Supported API and provider connectivity
- Administrator access and environment separation
Prepare for vendor-operated releases
Supplier-hosted software still needs a release and incident process. We agree sandbox testing, notice periods where available, change validation and escalation ownership. Reporting exports, integration health and business continuity procedures are documented so the operator can respond when the issue crosses a vendor boundary.
A service-level review identifies the measured service, availability calculation, maintenance exclusions, response versus restoration targets and escalation hours in the actual agreement. An incident spanning the hosted core, a payment provider and your frontend needs named coordination rather than three unrelated support tickets. Restore evidence and integration regression results are reviewed before operational handover.
- Release validation and regression responsibilities
- Support contacts and incident evidence requirements
- Export and continuity runbooks
- NoticeVersion and affected scope.
- RehearseSandbox and regression evidence.
- ObserveIntegration health and reports.
- EscalateNamed owner and continuity plan.
The supplier’s actual release policy determines the available notice and control.
Software rights, supplier changes and export questions
Discuss your requirementsIs platform licensing the same as a gambling licence?
No. A software licence grants defined rights to use technology. Permission to offer a gambling product is a separate matter determined by the operating model and relevant authorities or partners.
Can SaaS be deployed on our own cloud?
Only if the supplier offers that arrangement. Self-hosted, private-cloud and supplier-hosted deployments have different responsibility boundaries. We confirm supported options before including infrastructure work in the proposal.
Can we export our player and transaction data?
We check the actual export entitlement, access window, format, field definitions and assistance charges during procurement. A representative export should include the agreed account identifiers, transaction and round references, restrictions, consent and audit history needed by the receiving system, subject to permitted access and retention. We validate record counts, totals and relationships against source reports and plan for open rounds or payments. A CSV download alone does not prove a usable migration, and rights to supplier code or third-party content remain separate.
Will custom changes survive updates?
That depends on how they are implemented and supported. We favor documented configuration and extension points, record version dependencies and establish a regression process for platform updates.
Who handles backups, incidents and support for a hosted platform?
The supplier agreement and implementation runbook identify backup ownership, retention, restore testing, recovery targets, support hours and escalation responsibilities. Your team also needs usable data exports and a clear route for incidents that cross platform, provider and operator systems. We review the available evidence and validate the agreed handoffs during operational acceptance.
What should an iGaming SaaS subscription cost comparison include?
Compare the same capabilities, brands, environments and usage assumptions. Separate implementation and migration from recurring platform fees, minimum commitments, transaction or revenue-based charges, supplier connections, support tiers and paid changes. Confirm the definition of each billable metric, any overage calculation and export or termination assistance. SwissDice can turn the named proposal into an implementation and dependency budget; a price is agreed only after the actual product and scope are known.
What happens if the SaaS supplier changes or retires a feature?
The review records supported versions, available notice and test periods, extension compatibility and the change or termination rights in the actual agreement. Your regression pack exercises affected player and finance journeys before a supported release. For a removed capability, the plan identifies a supported replacement or transition, usable exports and continuity ownership. A vendor-operated service does not itself guarantee unchanged features or an unlimited support commitment.
Evaluate access before configuring the service
Evaluate permitted platform access
Review the named platform, tenant model, configuration limits, recurring terms and data access. Identify which workflows the subscription supports and which require another product or commissioned work.
Configure roles and connected workflows
Implement the approved tenant settings, operator permissions and provider interfaces. Record vendor-operated components and the responsibilities retained by your team.
Test the vendor change and exit paths
Validate representative account, payment and reporting journeys. Review release notifications, support escalation and available export procedures before accepting the configured service.
Compare your platform licensing options
Bring the supplier proposals, intended products and markets, required customization and data-export needs. We will compare the licensing boundary, recurring charges, integration access and exit dependencies before defining the implementation scope.
